On being an unbiased football fan in the Who Dat Nation

The man pictured below is Mario Bates. If you can’t tell Big Al who Mario Bates is, you may not be a Saints fan.

The title kinda says it all: I’m a blue and orange-wearing Broncos fan that resides an hour and a half from New Orleans. Since Black and Gold territory easily stretches into my neck of Mississippi, I’m surrounded by die-hard Saints fans. Well. Some of them are Saints fans. Some of them are merely faux-fans who say they “have loved the Saints all their lives” but can’t name iconic Saints players, much less obscure ones.

I find this enraging.
